How Does Root Canal Treatment Work?
The root canal procedure is fairly simple. Once Dr. Lee has determined that it is necessary, your root canal will go as follows:
- She will give you a local anesthetic to numb the area. This will remove any pain or discomfort.
- Then, she will remove the decayed or damaged parts of the tooth, the pulp (or tissue in the center of the tooth), and the tooth’s nerves.
- Once the middle of the tooth has been thoroughly cleaned, we will seal it off to avoid future infection.
- We will take impressions of your teeth so that your custom crown can be created. While it is being fabricated, you will wear a temporary one.
- When it arrives, you will come back to our Dallas dental office, and we will permanently affix the crown in place.
